TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

A reference for Rufus Green

Rufus Green worked with us as a writer/ researcher for a website for The Guardian newspaper’s educational arm learn.co.uk. The work entailed researching and writing up in simple language key festivals of a variety of religions. He had to liaise with scholars and practioners and clients giving him information and feeding back on his material. He did this with great tact, understanding and good humour even though feedback was often conflicting!

His research work was excellent. His approach of reading round a subject in detail and then extracting the salient points, checking and rechecking that he had represented the key elements and at a language level the users of the site could manage was much appreciated.

He was also great fun to have in the office, generous as well as amusing. If he hadn’t finished something he would stay in the office until he had without being asked to do so. He had initiative and self motivation.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rufus for research work and if he hasn’t found permanent work, I would very much hope he’ll come and help us with another project in the future.

If you wish to discuss any of this with me, please feel free to contact me on 020 7296 0010.
